As we already know, every runway season comes with its own set of rules and trends. This runway season has been immensely versatile, to say the least, but even in the sea of deconstructed garments, over-the-top athleisure and at times, downright unwearable garments, it seems that there is still plenty of room for pure femininity.

We have dug long and hard to find the most feminine pieces possible so that you can snag them and be the epitome of a feminine goddess, because what is summer about if not about femininity, breeziness and those carefree flowing dresses that make us feel delicate and fierce at the same time?

Work doesn’t have to be dull

It’s no news that the power suit is here and it will probably be here to stay for a very long time. However, a power suit doesn’t have to entail dull colors and uninspired design. It can be both powerful and playful at the same time, and the secret lies in the color selection.

Therefore, if you want to exude both of the aforementioned traits, you will opt for the mighty and cute pastel suits that say exactly what you want it to – yes, I’m in charge, I am sharp and in control, but I also have a soft and frilly side.

Dress up

Dresses have always been a go-to staple, but as numerous brands have shown us, including Chanel in their couture collection, a formal dress never goes out of style. Whether it’s long, short, with bell sleeves or features an asymmetric neckline, a dress is an iconic staple that will never go out of style. It can be white and angelic, powerfully and timelessly black, or with a sexy sweetheart neckline – whatever suits your figure and sense of style, but you must have it.

Besides, with all the summer formal events, each of us will need at least two, so make sure you’re prepared. Oh, and high slits are back in town, so bear that in mind as well, and when the event calls you can answer in style and with no wardrobe panic in sight.

Modesty is feminine

Carolina Herrera has given us many style lessons over the years, but the one we are probably most grateful for is the one that tells us that simple white button-downs don’t have to be corporate and that being completely buttoned-up doesn’t take away from our femininity.

On the contrary – her display of white shirts tucked into floor-length ball skirts topped off with wide belts in contrasting colors send a clear message that a woman can be completely covered and modest and still look sexy and feminine as all hell.

Polka dots make women “extravagantly, romantically, eyelash-battingly female” – those are the words told to Vogue by Christian Dior himself, and behold, the timeless polka dot pattern, which has gone through a bit of a lull in the recent years has made a great comeback.

We have seen it on dresses and tops by numerous designers, and it quickly flushed down to fast-fashion stores, becoming an absolute hit. Dior wasn’t mistaken, there is something superbly feminine about the pattern, regardless of which form it comes in. It’s simply irresistible, inexplicably sexy and innocent at the same time.

Athleisure can be many things, and with recent developments, it has also proven its ability to be feminine and smoking hot. Take, for instance, the ultra-sexy Ivy Park bodysuit. With something that shows all your curves and is so skintight, you can be wearing a potato sack on the bottom and still look hot (but don’t). Pair this baby with a cotton pencil skirt that allows a lot of movement but also does your curves justice and slay them by rocking this outfit on a Saturday afternoon.

Make it happen

Make it happen

Alexandre Vauthier’s spring couture collection has given us plenty to think about. His bold and innovative designs leave us in awe, but two extravagantly feminine and sensual elements – the deep V-neck dresses and opera-length gloves – have left us breathless. A neckline so deep would perhaps be considered vulgar if it hadn’t been executed with such mastery and just the right fabric that holds everything in place, so if you do choose to rock this trend, make sure you look sensual yet ultra-classy. The gloves, however, remind us of old Hollywood, and let’s just sit and pray that they stay trendy for a very long time, because the only thing sexier than a woman with bare shoulders is a woman with bare shoulders and gloves.

Like a mermaid

The elusive fictitious creature – the mermaid, has always been the embodiment of absolute femininity. Now, if you’re a bride, you can choose the mermaid cut, but as weddings don’t happen every day, we will take what Emily Ratajkowski is wearing and settle for that for the time being. Mermaid skirts have been, and still are one of the hottest trends of the season, and there is a good reason for it. The high waist accentuates and creates the illusion of the ultimate feminine figure – the hourglass, while the frills still allow you to move freely. The top part of the skirt hugs the hips just right and accentuates all the curves. This skirt does it all – shows all that is perfect and hides all the imperfections. T

he only thing you can do to up the ante is follow Emily’s cue and rock it with an off-the-shoulder printed crop top, as it doesn’t only accentuate the collar bones and the ever-sensual shoulders but it also allows the skirt to do its job – show off that waist.
